But a strange scent chills him when she offers her wrist. The Vampire Tribunal comes for them with torture, pyres and ancient rites. Her blood heals and resurrects and resonates with the Progenitor’s lingering spirit. Still, she suspects she is just a pawn on someone’s chessboard. While fighting vampire nobles, she discovers a secret mastermind drew her into a trap. This entity knows her lineage, powers and preordained fate. Will she be the board’s most valuable piece, or the one to overturn everything? Between blood slave and queen lies great power, along with a lie she has never questioned.
